Automobili Costantini

A modest Italian utility car became a mountain icon. Decades later, that same clarity of purpose became the starting point for Automobili Costantini.

An icon, never an imitation

The original Panda 4x4 was never meant to impress. It was meant to work — on ice, on scree, on the driveway of a chalet at 2,000 metres. We start from that honesty.

Every car begins as a donor chassis from 2002 or 2003, the last of the original generation, stripped down and rebuilt by hand in our Florence workshop.

1980

The Panda arrives

Giorgetto Giugiaro's rigorously simple Panda makes its debut: flat glass, honest surfaces and an interior designed to be used rather than admired from a distance.

1983

Four wheels, one purpose

Steyr-Puch engineering gives the lightweight Panda genuine four-wheel-drive ability. It quickly becomes a fixture from Alpine villages to Tuscan farms.

2003

The original bows out

After twenty years, production of the first-generation Panda ends. The final-series cars become our preferred foundations: familiar, proven and still wonderfully direct.

Today

A Florentine second life

Automobili Costantini strips each donor to its essentials and rebuilds it around one owner. The character remains unmistakably Panda; the finish, stance and details become entirely personal.

Preserve the honesty. Perfect everything around it.
